It is time for the third installment of our Summer 14er Meetup Series! We’ll be tackling Mt. Evans on Sunday, August 21st. As always we’ll be camping out the night prior for those that don’t want to make the early AM drive.

**New for this trip***

  • Chili cookoff! For the person that brings the best chili, we will be giving away a Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Jacket! Just in time for the Fall season, you could win the world’s lightest weight fully-featured down jacket, MSRP $320! Men’s or women’s, and we’ll make sure you get the right size.

So dust off that family recipe, and show us what you’ve got. No need to bring a barrel of chili, just make your normal batch. Looking forward to trying some great stuff!

More gear giveaways! We’ll be offering more gear giveaways at this trip than any previous meetup.

Tent Reservations

**Update** All tents have been reserved. If you plan to attend, and have not already reserved a tent, please ensure that you bring on with you for the camp out.

The total roundtrip distance for the hike from the Summit Lake trailhead is 5.5 miles, with about 2,000 ft. of elevation gain. This is the most approachable hike in our summer series this year. If you’re a beginner, this is your hike! If you’re a more advanced hiker/climber, other routes are available to you, including connecting Bierstadt. The sawtooth ridge to Bierstadt will not be part of this meetup hike, and is only recommended to individuals with experience.
