Join us Thursday, March 19th 6:00pm at FERAL Denver for Avy 101 with Abe Pacharz, owner, co-founder, and lead guide for Colorado Adventure Guides presented by Gravity Haus.

AVY 101 – Know Before You Go is a free avalanche awareness program. Not much science, no warnings to stay out of the mountains, no formulas to memorize. In one hour+, you will see the destructive power of avalanches, understand when and why they happen, and how you can have fun in the mountains and avoid avalanches. We will also look at the state of the current Colorado snowpack, how it got to where it is, and what this means as we welcome more snow to the area.

This event is free to all attendees and is a great introduction for anyone looking to spend time in the backcountry.

About Abe Pacharz, Owner / Co-Founder / Lead Guide:
Abe‘s adventure began in the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York. Growing up in such a beautifully wild place played a large role in developing his love for the outdoors and a passion for exploring. After getting his start as a guide for the University of Vermont outing club, he spent almost 10 years traveling the western states, guiding French adventurers through our beautiful National Parks. He eventually made his way to the Rocky Mountain, and though he has skied all over the world, Colorado’s fluffy powder always keeps his stoke high. His passion for guiding and outdoor education has inspired him to pursue training from the International Mountain Bike Association, the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education, Wilderness Medicine Institute, and the American Mountain Guides Association.
